Tuesday’s Biggest Matchups

Last night brought us some really important results! The most important one was the bragging rights result in St. Louis with Illinois dominating Missouri!

Player of the Day: AJ Dybantsa had a triple double with 33/10/10 and 2 steals to take home player of the day honors!

Arizona, BYU, UNC, Kansas, Virginia, Georgia, George Washington, Butler, South Carolina, San Diego State, Indiana, Georgetown, Florida State, West Virginia, Syracuse, VCU, Memphis, Wisconsin, Texas, Creighton, Oklahoma, Washington all played buy games and won easily.

Miami (OH) moved to 13-0 with a 135-81 win over a non-D1 opponent.

Tulsa picked up a close win over Denver at home last night to improve to 12-1. Tulsa is worth monitoring going forward for at-large hopes!

Seattle went into UTSA and got a road W 71-68, helping bolster the WCC as a whole.

SIU Edwardsville got their first OVCC win @ Western illinois!

Abilene Christian handled Texas Southern in Houston.

UC Santa Barbara beat Portland by 18 in a fun west coast matchup.

UTEP handled north Dakota State, winning by 10!

Wright State beat Eastern Michigan by 6 to get within a game of .500!

LSU struggled with Prairie View A&M before pulling away at the end to win by 14.

Coastal Carolina upset St. Joseph’s in Philly for a buy game upset!

Rhode Island beat Northeastern in a regional rivalry matchup!

Boston College continues to struggle, this time beating FDU by 11 at home after trailing by 8 at the half.

UT Arlington handed Oral Roberts, winning by 12 on the road!

Grand Canyon and IU Indy played a really fun matchup, however, a technical foul late swung momentum and GCU pulled away!

Saint Mary’s got the best of Northern Iowa in what was the game of the night!

UC Irvine dominated Norfolk State, winning the Sun Bowl invitational!

Today’s Games:

This is the last day with games until Saturday, unfortunately with the Diamond Head Classic ending, we will have no hoops for 3 days. I have some content coming out this week, but it’s a solid week to get teams ready for upcoming conference play!

This slate is ROUGH, with just 12 total games, with one of those being Marshall hosting a non-D1 program.

UCLA, Kentucky, Ohio State, St. Johns and Loyola Marymount are all playing buy games today, really leaving us just 6 games worth monitoring barring any chaos from these teams!

Game of the day:

5️⃣ Villanova @ Seton Hall — 7:00, Peacock
This game is absolutely huge for both teams. For Nove, it’s a Q1 road opportunity, and for Seton Hall, it’s their chance to really prove they’re making some noise in this year’s iteration of the Big East! I would expect the Prudential Center to be rocking!

 3️⃣ FAU vs UCF — 2:00 | Orlando
This is a distant second behind the Nova/SHU game, but features UCF who is really looking to make a push towards an at-large bid tis year!

2️⃣ Lindenwood @ Missouri State — 3:00, ESPN+
This will be a solid mid-major matchup and I would expect it to be relatively close as well! It’s worth a watch if you’re looking to slack off on work some or if you’re looking to avoid family!

2️⃣ Green Bay @ Campbell — 12:00, FloSports
Gottleib and the Phoenix are taking on the Campbell Camels today at noon. If you’re able to watch FloSports, I’d recommend checking this one out! It should be close!

1️⃣ Idaho @ Cal State Bakersfield — 5:00, ESPN+
I love that these two are playing today, it’s a fun, relatively regional matchup that I expect to be close. With minimal action on today, this one is worth tuning into!

1️⃣ Binghamton @ Army — 12:00, ESPN+
This matchup promises a lot of defense, but might a good one to watch if you haven’t seen either team play!
