Arizona and Iowa St. are on track to become locks very soon. Houston, BYU, and TTU are not far behind. Kansas is not in quite as good of shape as those mentioned before them, but nonetheless it would be shocking if they were to miss.
UCF is in good shape to make the field thanks to a road win over Texas A&M and a home win over Kansas. Tough stretch of games coming up though as 3 of 4 are on the road and the non road game is against Arizona.
TCU is trying to make up for a Q4 loss to New Orleans back in November. Wins over Florida and Wisconsin are helpful, but they need more. TCU plays BYU and Utah on the road this week. They can’t afford to go 0-2. Baylor who TCU just beat might be in worse shape. They don’t have the Q4 L that TCU had, but the Bears best wins are Creighton and SDSU. They have OKST and Kansas on the road this week. 0-2 would leave them 9-7 and just 4-7 in Q1-3.
Speaking of the Cowboys, they are in decent shape, but lack the quantity of quality wins to be considered for “good shape”. A win tonight would help their cause. I really don’t expect Colorado to make the NCAA Tournament, but right now their profile speaks of a bubble team.
Arizona St., and Kansas St. have struggled with consistency all season long so far and the Mountaineers just don’t look like an NCAA Tournament team. That was a nice win over Kansas though!
